Christmas HAF Programme Launch

As part of the Christmas HAF Programme this year, we will be welcoming 60 children from vulnerable and at risk families from across Shropshire to take part in four days of free holiday activity at the Montgomery Waters Meadow from Monday 20th December – Thursday 23rd December 2021 whilst also enjoying a hot and nutritious meal each day.

Throughout our HAF Programme delivery in 2021, as well as providing exercise and hot meals for over 1,700 children, we have provided additional resources to each child to take home at the end of each day. These have varied throughout our courses to includes additional food provision (Fruit, Vegetables, Cereal Bars etc) to education resources on food nutrition.

With Christmas around the corner, we wanted to go the extra mile for these families at a time which is celebrated by many but can be a tough financial time for many families across Shropshire and beyond.

With the incredible support of Tuffins Supermarket, we will be providing a Christmas Hamper at the end of the final day on Thursday 23rd December, that each child can take home for their family. Throughout the week, each child will personalise a hamper box with Christmas decorations etc that would be individual to them.

We will also be launching a brand-new Christmas present campaign where we will be asking our community to donate small gifts that the children can the wrap up and give to their loved ones at Christmas.

We are looking for donations from local companies, organisations and friends to help us make this Christmas a special one for families in need in Shropshire.
