We’re back with our Community Team updates for this week. Unfortunately Shrewsbury Town women had their cup game postponed for the second week running due to the weather conditions so only our BTEC squad and Shadow Squads were in action. Find out how the teams got on below.

BTEC Development Team

Shrewsbury Town 1 – 2 Shrewsbury Schools

It was a good performance from the team despite the result. They kept possession well, managed to create chances and only struggled to put the ball in the net aside from the goal from Steffan Evans The team came away deserving a lot more from the game.  Star players on the day were Jake Jenkins and Matty Leoni

Shadow Squad U13s

Leek Wooton 8 – 0 Shrewsbury Town

Salop just didn’t turn up for this game and with only 11 players really struggled to compete.

Shadow Squad U14s

Coventry Copeswood 3 – 0 Shrewsbury Town

With only 10 players in the team the game was always going to be an uphill struggle. The lads who turned up did Shrewsbury Town proud in difficult circumstances, finishing the game with only 8. A particular mention has to go to Jerry Reynolds for going in goal when it was needed.

Shadow Squads U15s

Shrewsbury Town 1 – 1 Solihull Moors

There was a good standard of football from each team but Town just lacked the edge to get the three points although a draw was a fair result. Stand out performances came from Yahya Muhammad and Will Jervis
