We are delighted to reveal that Joshua Wallis has been chosen as our mascot for the visit of Liverpool to Mongomery Waters Meadow for Sunday’s FA Cup Fourth Round game.

Joshua’s name was picked from a raffle drawn by our Community Manager, Alex Jones at Montgomery Waters Meadow this afternoon. This will mean that Joshua, age 6, will get the once in a lifetime opportunity to walk out alongside the two teams along with 3x match tickets and a full Shrewsbury Town 19/20 home kit.

Jenny Downward, Joshua’s Mum, was over the moon, commenting ‘We never win anything like this and it has come at just the right time as Josh is becoming football mad. We’re so grateful to have been picked!’

Shrewsbury Town in the Community would like to thank everybody who entered the raffle, we understand there will be those who are disappointed, but the money raised will be reinvested back into Shropshire through our many projects across the county. We work across several different programmes including education & learninghealth & wellbeing, and inclusive sports  as we look to help everyone realise their potential and achieve their goals.

Jamie Edwards, CEO at Shrewsbury Town in the Community was delighted with the response to the raffle. “We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who entered the raffle over the last week, you’ve helped us to raise an incredible amount of money which will be vital to the work which we deliver throughout Shropshire. We wanted to make sure that everyone had a fair chance for this game as we know how big it is for the club, the town and of course the supporters.”
