Provide Better Life Chances

Help Your Local Community!

We want to provide opportunities to help individuals achieve their goals and realise their potential, but we can only do this with your support.

We improve education and employment opportunities in Shropshire

At Shrewsbury Town in the Community we want to create more opportunities for people to gain employment and develop skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

We are dedicated to offering a variety of pathways including our Football and Education courses and providing employment within the organisation through both the Kickstart Scheme and Back in the Game.

Through our partnerships with local schools, we have a team of coaches that engage with pupils in both active learning and in the classroom, using the power of sport to motivate and inspire.

How we help

Between July 2020 and July 2021, over 5,800 were unemployed across Shropshire.

Around 1 in 7 children in Shropshire are obese.

We want to combat both obesity and unemployment by using our staff to engage and inspire. By having a lasting presence in schools and creating programmes to teach life skills will have a positive impact on the community.

What do we provide to help?

• We provide access to safe inspiring community facilities that provide the platform to shape a positive future
• We provide employability training to offenders and ex offenders developing the skills needed to help shape a positive future
• We provide opportunities for Police Community Support Officers to engage with children and young people through our programmes

What’s next?

In partnership with Job Centre Plus and funded through the Department of Work and Pension our new ‘Back in the Game’ project will provide a pathway to employment for those currently in need of support. Through the Government’s Kickstart scheme we will be providing one of the largest number of ‘placements’ across any football club in the country; providing unique and engaging work experience opportunities across the Football Club.
