Everyone at Shrewsbury Town in the Community would like to say a huge well done to Roger Groves and Mike Davies as they picked up the award for Sport Supporters of the Year at the EFL Awards in London on Sunday night.

As lifelong Shrewsbury Town supporters Roger and Mike have won the award thanks to their tireless work with the Supporters Parliament in recent years which has provided an avenue for feedback to the club from fans.

On top of this they have also worked alongside STITC in helping to build awareness of the new Fanzone, funded by the Football Foundation, and of course were instrumental in the introduction of the safe-standing area to Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Roger and Mike, said: “It’s fantastic; as lower league football fans, we never expected to be recognised like this. We love our club and we do what we do because we want to make life better for our fellow fans.
