Last Saturday on 6th April we invited 15 of our after school club participants to a special celebration event at Montgomery Waters Meadow as a reward for their efforts in clubs during the academic term.

Pupils were chosen by our Community Coaches from various after school clubs for their excellent sportsmanship and attitude whilst attending sessions throughout the term. Along with a ticket for the match, those selected also took part in a football tournament at the Community Football Hub before the game and a Skills Final, which gave some the chance to play on the pitch at Montgomery Waters Meadow during half time of the game.

The two winners who took part in the Skills Final on the pitch were Jordan from Wilfred Owen School, and Alexandros from St Winefreds.

Parents of two of the participants commented on the day that it was ‘a fab day and great for the kids who maybe don’t have the opportunity to go and watch the games.’ With another praising the ‘fantastic event which encouraged all the children from different schools to work together as a team.’
