We would like to thank everyone who took part in yesterday’s inaugural ShrewsAbility Run and helped us to raise over £700 to go towards Inclusive Sports projects!

The first ever ShrewsAbility run took place yesterday morning before the Mercedes-Benz of Shrewsbury 10k. 20 participants took part in the event as they completed the course around the Market Square in Shrewsbury covering 600m and being cheered on by crowds surrounding the street.

After the race had been started by Shrewsbury Town club captain, Shrewsbury Town in the Community Trustee and Disability Ambassador, Dave Edwards, participants were able to complete the course in their own time with each receiving a medal from the former Welsh International at the end.

We would like to say a big thank you to Ultimate Fitness for teaming with us for the event and for their support.

We are grateful for those who were able to take part in the event for their fundraising efforts and who made the event a success. We look forward to growing the event and hopefully making it an annual tradition, allowing everyone to enjoy the day.

Due to the implications of COVID-19 we did have a number of participants scheduled to take part who decided to avoid the event, we would like to reassure those that we are looking into holding a similar event in the summer to hopefully give those individuals the chance to take part.
