Shrewsbury Town in the Community are bringing you three epic challenge events this year, with an added Golf Society new to 2021.

Our annual Golf Day sponsored by Nick Jones Wealth Planning will kick start our ‘Challenge Yourself’ events. Taking place on June 10th at Hawkstone Golf Club, this years Golf day will bring a fun yet competitive social event to Shropshire, where local golfers will compete in an 18-hole course, fighting for the Winners Trophy.

20th August will welcome the return of our Shrewsbury Town Sleepout, sponsored by Shropshire Homes. Set to raise awareness of Homelessness across Shropshire, our Sleepout will see participants braving the outdoors and spending a night at Montgomery Waters Meadow, with just a sleeping bag and cardboard boxes for Shelter. This years’ sleepout encourages all ages to take part, welcoming beavers and scout clubs.

Our final Challenge event of the year will be our 24 Hour Football Match. Taking place on 10th September on the new community hub 3G pitch, our 24 Hour Football match challenges individuals and clubs to sign up and book their slots across the day. This challenge welcomes players of all ages and abilities and will a fantastic way to finish our Challenge Yourself 2021 events.

CEO Jamie Edwards added:  “With no community events taking place for over 12 months we are excited to be back. Set with a target of  raising £20,000 surplus we have some ambitious, fun and engaging activities and events planned. I am sure our loyal supporters will turn out in force and smash our challenged and targets”

New to 2021 is not only our Challenge events but also our Golf Society. Set with the theme “Race to the Meadow” our Golf Society will see local golfers compete in 4 rounds across two Shropshire Golf Courses. Taking place at Arscott Golf Club and Church Stretton Golf Club, this new society will bring a new and exciting competition to Shropshire.
