Mat Sadler signs autographs

Junior Shrews and Soccer Schools Participants meet the players

Our Junior Shrews members and Autumn Half-Term Soccer Schools participants both had the opportunity to meet and greet the Shrewsbury Town squad during an open training session on Monday.

Paul Hurst and the management team put their squad through their paces, before then turning their attention to Town’s young fans.

All groups had the opportunity to meet their favourites, grab autographs and photos, and ask questions to the players after their unbeaten start to the season.

Fan’s favourites including Dean Henderson, Shaun Whalley and Jon Nolan were on hand to answer all questions thrown at them and sign autographs for all in attendance.

Paul Hurst also met Town’s young fans and he spoke to ShrewsWeb about the event.

“Jamie had asked me if we were okay to do something at the club, so we trained on the main pitch and the young children got to watch the training.

“I think the bit they really wanted to do was get the autographs and take a few pictures after the session and it was nice to see quite a few of the kids in Shrewsbury Town kits as well.

“I think as a club we want all fans and certainly young fans to be part of this football club moving forward.

“There’s a few initiatives run to get them down and make them feel special, and hopefully yesterday was one of those days where they went home and had a smile on their face.”
